Frederick Bolling⁽¹⁾ died on 23 Jul 1853 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was born in Tensas Parish, Louisiana. Frederick died of Yellow Fever.
In 1848 Frederick's mother Lucy, died and Frederick went to live with h is mother's brother's family. Parents: John Alexander Bolling and Lucy Burwell Turnbull Randolph.

Harriett Bolling⁽¹⁾ Harriet married the father of Thomas Thweatt Jones. Both Harriett and M r. Jones had large families by their previous marriages, and becau se of a number of interesting intermarriages, the families were drawn clos ely together.

John Alexander Bolling⁽¹⁾ was born about 1808. He died on 18 Sep 1900. After John and Lucy married they, "emigrated to Mississippi." They settl ed in a wilderness home in Warren County, near Vicksburg Mississippi.
In 1846 John sold his holdings in Mississippi and moved to Tensas Pari sh in Louisiana.

Lucy died in 1848.
Margarett went to live in the Robert Randolph home. Little Frederick we nt to live with Lucy's brother's family. John took the five older survivi ng sons, Samuel Edward, 19, Thomas Elliott, 16, John Alexander, Jr. 14, Ro bert Randolph, 12 and William Elliott, 10 to California. Parents: Samuel Pryor Bolling and Nancy Willis Elliott.

Richard Elliott Bolling Dr.⁽¹⁾ was born in 1874 in Red River, Fanin County, Texas (North of Honey Grove)/Red River Co., TX. He died on 13 Jul 1915 in Pasadena, California.
Dick was two years younger than (his brother) John. He graduated "with hig hest honors from medical school at the University of the South, Sewanee, T ennessee. Dick played football on a team that toured the South, winning fi ve games in six days. In some way he was severely injured, from which inju ry he never completely recovered. He studied and practiced surgery in N ew York City, and quickly rose to the peak of his profession. He married E lnora Irene Daly, and they were a lovely happy couple, having settled in R edding, California. They had one son, Richard Elliot, Jr. Dick developed t uberculosis, which, with the lung injury received in football, made recove ry impossible." From the book, Tales of a TEXAS RANCH by Ruth J. Richard Elliott Bolling⁽¹⁾ died in 1876 in Texas. Richard was never married. He died at age 60. pg 3-6 Tales of a Texas Ran ch

Richard Elliott Bolling⁽¹⁾ was born on 6 Jul 1909 in Boston, Massachusetts.⁽⁴⁾ He died on 1 Sep 2001 in Forest Grove, Oregon. Dick got his tattoos at Port Morsby, New Guinea across the channel from Sh anghai. He was stationed there for a year or more. During that time the re was a lot of Malaria in the port. (1)

Richard was in the Merchant Marine:

Grampa would say "in the merchant marine"... he would describe himself as
"a seaman"...

He has never used the word "sailor" to describe himself, because he
considers "sailor" to describe either people who sailed sailing vessels,
or else the military navy people.

From the early 1930's until he retired fairly recently. Actually, you may
have noticed in his room that he still had his sea bag rolled down by his
bed, ready to put his things in, in case he decided to go back to
sea... so in a way, psychologically, he never quite "retired" 100%...

For a few years after World War Two, he tried being a "landlubber" by
working for the post office, and later by working as a social worker. And
he even went back to school for a year at the University of Washington
School of Social Work. But he grew weary of what he called the "sawdust
mountains of paperwork" that went with the social welfare work... endless
forms... and also the puny amounts of support that there actually was for
the poor people he was trying to help. It really frustrated him. Finally

Dick Bolling states in a notarized affidavit dated May 24, 1938 that Mr. M eier and Lynne wrote to him Dec 15, 1937 stating they were in love and s he was pregnant. Children were: Mary Irene Bolling, Constance Lynne Bolling, Virginia Lee Bolling.

Children were: Thomas Elliott Bolling.

Robert Elliott Bolling⁽¹⁾. Robert enlisted in the Marines in World War I. Parents: Alfred Bolling and Amelia Louise Hensley.

Robert Randolph Bolling⁽¹⁾ was born in 1836. He died before 1900. He served in the military in Confederate Army, Company B, Waller's Battalion, Green's Brigade. After Bob and Nellie were married, they bought the Texas Ranch from Robe rt and Hattie Randolph. (Abt 1869-1870) Robert and Hattie wanted to move b ack to New Orleans after spending 10 years at the Ranch. Parents: John Alexander Bolling and Lucy Burwell Turnbull Randolph.

He was married to Cornelia Mary Garrett on 18 Nov 1869 in Texas.

Robert Scott Bolling⁽¹⁾ was born on 4 Mar 1869 in Mississippi. He died about 1938. Robert Scott "was a natural florist, and always had a bunch of flowers f or sick or distressed friends. . . He outlived his mother by a number of y ears, and died in his bachelor quarters, age sixty-nine. " Tales of a Tex as Ranch page 79. Parents: Thomas Elliott Bolling and Susan Eugenia Scott.

Roscoe Randolph Bolling⁽¹⁾ was born in Red River, Fanin County, Texas (North of Honey Grove)/Red River Co., TX. Roscoe enlisted in the army during World War I Parents: Thomas Elliott Bolling and Susan Eugenia Scott.

Samuel Edward Bolling⁽¹⁾ was born about 1829 in Warren County, Mississippi, (near Vicksburg). He died on 22 Jul 1856 in California. According to Tales of a Texas Ranch by Ruth J. Bolling, Samuel was 19 in 1 848 when they set out for California. (pg. 11) Samuel was 26 when he di ed July 22, 1856.
Samuel had red hair. Parents: John Alexander Bolling and Lucy Burwell Turnbull Randolph.

Samuel Pryor Bolling⁽¹⁾ died in Aug 1833.⁽⁶⁾ Samuel's will was probated Aug 12, 1833. After Samuel and Nancy (called An n) were married they went to live on Bolling Hill in Dinwiddie County, Vir ginia. (on the North side of Notoway River)

"Tales of a Texas Ranch" page 2 tells us, "These young people were marri ed on August 12, 1807 and went to live on "Bolling Hill." The will of Samu el P. Bolling was probated in August, 1833, according to the following, wh ich tells us that they had twenty-six years of happy married life. From t he surveyor's plat of Dinwiddie County, Virginia, 1755-1865, we copy:
By order of Dinwiddie Court: I have surveyed the land belonging to the est ate of Samuel P. Bolling, deceased, lying in Dinwiddie Co. on the North si de of the Notoway River and have laid off the widow's dower.

Thomas Elliott Bolling⁽¹⁾ was born on 29 Jul 1832 in near Vicksburg, Warren County, Mississippi.⁽⁷⁾ He died on 18 Mar 1911 in Edna, Jackson County, Texas.⁽⁷⁾ Tom fought all through the Civil War. His right arm was badly injured whi ch fully healed. After his discharge, he went to Mississippi.

Not long after Robert was born, Tom and Sue went to Fannin County, Texas a nd built a small farm. Five more boys were born. Two died in infancy. th ey lived there twelve years.

Next they moved to Comanche County, Texas to find a healthier climate a nd to help an aunt, Sallie Walcott, whose husband, Dexter Walcott had died .

Thomas Elliot was 83 years old when he died which would put him born abo ut 1844 Parents: John Alexander Bolling and Lucy Burwell Turnbull Randolph.

He was married to Susan Eugenia Scott on 4 Mar 1869 in Mississippi. Children were: John William Bolling, Roscoe Randolph Bolling, Unknown Bolling, Unknown Bolling, Robert Scott Bolling, Richard Elliott Bolling Dr. .

Thomas Jones Bolling⁽¹⁾ Parents: Alfred Bolling and Amelia Louise Hensley.

Children were: Jean Bolling.

Unknown Bolling⁽¹⁾ was born in Red River, Fanin County, Texas N. of Honey Grove. He died in Red River, Fanin County, Texas N. of Honey Grove. Parents: Thomas Elliott Bolling and Susan Eugenia Scott.

Unknown Bolling⁽¹⁾ died between 1943 and 1948 in Tensas Parish, Louisiana. He was born in Tensas Parish, Louisiana. Baby boy of John and Lucy died in infancy. It's unknown if he was old er or younger than Frederick. Possibly died from Malaria. Parents: John Alexander Bolling and Lucy Burwell Turnbull Randolph .

Unknown Bolling⁽¹⁾ was born on 16 Aug 1848 in Tensas Parish, Louisiana. He died on 16 Aug 1848 in Tensas Parish, Louisiana. I do not know for sure if Tensas is where the family lived at this time. O nly that it is where they moved to when they left Mississippi. Parents: John Alexander Bolling and Lucy Burwell Turnbull Randolph .

Virginia Lee Bolling (Private). Parents: Richard Elliott Bolling and Sophie Lynne Lyneburg.

Children were: Marcel Louise Rettke, Jenny Lynne Rettke, Gustav Charles Rettke, Joseph E. Rettke, Evangeline Lisa Rettke, Laurie Joyce Rettke.

Children were: Charles Victor Colyar.

William Elliott Bolling⁽¹⁾ was born in 1838 in Warren County, Mississippi, (near Vicksburg). He died before 1900. William Elliott was the last son in California. Family urged him to mo ve to Texas. He sold out and made it as far as Salt Lake City. Nobody hea rd from him after that. It is thought that he was robbed and murdered. Parents: John Alexander Bolling and Lucy Burwell Turnbull Randolph .
